I’m glad I researched for a good vet. Especially one for an exotic pet, a conure. My family rescued Pepito. Pepito’s health declined suddenly so search near and far for an exotic vet but everyone said they were booked or sending me to the place with low reviews. Then I found Heal, the receptionist said they were booked for the day but could be seen the next day and took all the information about what was going on. We arrive to the clinic and the receptionist is nice, checks us in. We then meet Dr. Dumas she introduces herself and asks the right questions to determine what could be going on with Pepito. Explained what tests should be done and why, so we do it all. Once the results came back, we find out Pepito is in critical condition. Dr. Dumas lets me know what should be done, go to the medical center that I saw bad reviews and I tell her I’m not comfortable taking Pepito there and she understands my frustration and said I could try to nurse him at home but there’s a chance Pepito might not make progress. Dr. Dumas never judged my decision or coerced me into what she thought was best. I was determined to help Pepito get better. Dr. Dumas gave me food that could help Pepito.. After one day, he was like new! The bird that was weak, lethargic and just sleeping was now hopping around and eating. After 3 days Pepito was flying again. The clinic was always asking for Pepito’s progress and I let them know everyday seemed better. A revisit was scheduled the next week and Dr. Dumas was so happy to see that Pepito was more energetic. Bloodwork was done again and everything was going way better. Thank you Dr. Dumas and team for being friendly, patient and helpful on Pepito’s care.

Absolutely one of the nicest places I took my chinchilla to. The staff was very caring and was very detailed what was happening throughout his visit. I would absolutely recommend taking a little baby to this wonderful vet

I came here with my bunny for a check up and the workers were so sweet. They were very transparent with costs and I could tell they genuinely cared. They treated my pet with so much love I definitely recommend.The only disappointment was I found a tick crawling on my rabbit’s carrier after leaving.

I had a great experience at HEAL Veterinary Hospital. The staff was kind, patient, and caring. The veterinarian took the time to examine my guinea pig carefully, explained everything clearly, and answered all of my questions. I really appreciated their professionalism and compassion. I would definitely recommend this hospital to anyone looking for excellent care for exotic pets.

This is the best Vet I have ever been to. I’m extremely fussy and have struggled to find a caring, compassionate veterinarian in New York City that actually knows what is happening with my dog and takes the best care of her as i would. I am so grateful to have found heal veterinarians. The actual vet clinic is absolutely spotless and beautiful and everyone from the Front Desk to the Vet to the nurse was beyond helpful in understanding my puppies condition. The doctor was the most knowledgeable doctor I have come across in New York City and she very carefully explained everything to me that was happening with my dog. She recommended many different options without pushing them on me and helped me understand the implications of each choice. The nurse was also absolutely amazing and cared for my dog as if it was her own. She is a complete superstar (thank you Yelena!) I really don’t have enough words to thank heal Vet. If I had continued to go to the existing vet, the condition that my dog has would not have been picked up, which could have been life-threatening. Thank you heal Vet. I love you!!!

I can’t say enough good things about this clinic! Dr. Dumas has been absolutely wonderful with my dog. After months of struggling with what turned out to be a food allergy, my previous vet kept dismissing it as nothing. Dr. Dumas actually took the time to listen, dig into the problem, and figure out exactly what was going on. It’s rare to find a vet who truly cares and goes the extra mile. We are so grateful to have found this practice and won’t be going anywhere else!

I immediately trusted her and your facility after meeting more of your staff and, of course, you! Thank you for working your magic in helping Domino finally expel her stuck egg!  I am sure she is relieved as well,  but honestly I think it’s a tie! lol My tears of joy said it all as it prevented her from having surgery and having to undergo pain and a long recovery. Dr. Dumas and her assistants were incredible. They made a visit to my Pre-K classroom to care for our class pet. Dr. Dumas took all of the children’s questions and was caring and informative. The children loved the visit and have been reminding me of the care suggestions that Dr. Dumas gave us. As long as we have this turtle I’d like to have her come back each year. I’m planning on adopting a dog over the summer and will be using Heal as my vet.

We’ve had an excellent experience at Heal Dumbo. The team genuinely cares about the well-being of our pet. The veterinarians explain everything clearly so you fully understand what’s happening, and the billing process is transparent—they give you a clear breakdown of costs upfront before any procedures. Dr. D, in particular, has been outstanding. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for caring, professional veterinary care.

The gratitude that I have for Dr. Dumas and her amazing staff. She was able to let us give our 9 year old Neapolitan Mastiff Clover the most beautiful and peaceful final moments. She travelled from Brooklyn to Staten Island after revising her schedule to accommodate us thanks to Ashley 😀. Without her and the team at Heal out last moments would have been very different. Dr. Dumas had such a beautiful spirit that calmed both my family and Clover. Although I wish we met under better circumstances she was our angel when we needed it. We are forever grateful ❤️☘️
